Although, how do you know that your Jewellery is real or fake? Many collectors have their own websites and will host a bevy of information. These can be the difference in reality to getting a collectible piece or getting a knock off or fake. This is place where the many shady characters come into play. There are many places for a person to research this highly collectible genre. Another great place to check is the internet. Some even alert people to the many fake scams that are currently out there. With this explosion has been an increase of fake Jewellery to go along with it. This has become a very hot topic in more recent days and a collector should be aware of it. We purchase and trade in a wide range of high quality natural gemstones from around the world. Alloys that are composed of semi metals with metals are classified as sulfides but are sometimes listed as elements. For thousands of years, gold has been valued as a global currency, a commodity, an investment and simply an object of beauty. We personally select and purchase rough and cut stones. They usually share similarities to other sulfides in their physical properties. These minerals are in the Selenides, the Tellurides, the Antimonides and the Arsenides Subclasses of the Sulfide Class. The main difference between elemental alloys and these semi-metal alloys is the presence of covalent bonding in these minerals as opposed to the strictly metallic bonding in pure metals and their metal alloys. Our specialty is top quality cutting. Firstly we talked about the cut of the stone. Now finding a good quality bright green tourmaline with this cut is not impossible to find but can be tricky so we decided that custom cutting was the way forward. We custom cut the green tourmaline from a larger cushion stone to create the look. We combined the chequer board facetted cut on top but with a more square proportioned shape rather than oval. The lapidaries squared up the proportions and then facetted the top of the stone. This creating a square cushion shape with a facetted top! Donna felt a straight sided square stone would be a little harsh so decided that she would like to have the stone with softened corners. The initial stone was 1.72cts and ended up at 1.05ct. After being cut gemstone it is difficult. We searched for a green tourmaline of the right colour that could be cut to shape. The twist ring is simple in style holds the tourmaline for a modern design. |
